The Hunger Project

The Hunger Project (THP) is a global nonprofit organization established in 1977, dedicated to ending world hunger and poverty through sustainable, grassroots initiatives. With a focus on empowering women, THP operates in 22 countries across Africa, South Asia, and Latin America. The organization aims to create a world where every individual can lead a healthy and self-reliant life. THP employs a unique approach that includes the Epicenter Strategy, which organizes clusters of rural villages to build community centers and promote self-reliance through microfinance, improved agriculture, and health care. Their programs also include workshops that inspire community members to envision and work towards a better future. By addressing local challenges and fostering partnerships with local governments and organizations, THP seeks to create systemic change and tackle the root causes of hunger and poverty.
