A member of the State System of Higher Education founded in 1866 as Keystone State Normal School.

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania (member of the State System of Higher Education) was founded in 1866 as Keystone State Normal School and became Kutztown State Teachers College in 1928; it achieved university status in 1983.
