Irish Heart

The Irish Heart Foundation (IHF) is a national charity based in Dublin, Ireland, established in 1966. As the leading organization focused on heart disease and stroke, it aims to eliminate preventable deaths and disabilities while providing support to those affected by these conditions. Governed by a voluntary board of 12 members from various sectors, the IHF operates as an independent, not-for-profit entity. The IHF offers a range of services, including patient support through stroke and heart support groups, a nurse support line, and heart failure programs. It promotes prevention and education with initiatives like a Mobile Health Unit for blood pressure checks, CPR training, and health resources. The organization also engages in advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about health risks, promote healthier lifestyles, and influence public policy regarding nutrition and tobacco control. The IHF is funded by public and business donations and maintains transparency through annual reports and financial statements.
