International Fund for Animal Welfare

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is a global non-profit organization established in 1969. It focuses on rescuing individual animals, safeguarding wildlife populations, preserving habitats, and advocating for stronger animal protections in over 40 countries. IFAW's mission is to ensure that animals and people thrive together, emphasizing both rescue efforts and conservation initiatives. IFAW operates various programs, including wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, habitat conservation, anti-poaching efforts, and community animal health initiatives. The organization rescues and rehabilitates injured or orphaned animals, protects ecosystems, and trains enforcement personnel to combat wildlife crime. IFAW also engages in advocacy campaigns to promote animal welfare and educate policymakers and the public. In 2023, IFAW was recognized by Fast Company for its innovative marine rescue advancements. Through partnerships with local communities, governments, and NGOs, IFAW works to create a positive impact on wildlife and the communities that depend on them.
