Edenor (Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte S.A.) is Argentina's largest electricity distribution company, serving approximately 3.34 million customers across a 4,637 km² area in the northwestern part of Greater Buenos Aires and northern Buenos Aires City. Founded in 1992, Edenor operates under a 95-year concession and manages a network of 34,500 km, including 78 transformer substations. The company purchases high-voltage electricity from generators, transforms it, and retails it to residential, commercial, industrial, and government customers. Edenor is committed to modernizing its infrastructure with initiatives like smart metering and automated monitoring. It also engages in renewable energy efforts, including small-scale generation tests and solar panel installations. Edenor emphasizes regulatory compliance and maintaining close relationships with stakeholders while contributing to about 20% of Argentina's electricity market.
