Duke University Health System

Duke University Health System (DUHS) is an integrated academic health care system located in Durham, North Carolina. It was established through a bequest from James B. Duke in 1925, with a mission to enhance health care in the Carolinas. The system includes three main hospitals: Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, and Duke Raleigh Hospital, along with various clinics and research institutes. DUHS offers a wide range of services, including emergency care, specialized centers for cancer and pediatrics, and primary care through an extensive network of community-based providers. The system is recognized for its innovative research, including the Duke Databank for Cardiovascular Disease and advancements in various medical fields. DUHS is committed to serving a diverse population across 32 counties in North Carolina and neighboring states, focusing on education, research, and community health initiatives.
