Delgado Community College

Delgado Community College is Louisiana's oldest and largest community college, established in 1921. It serves students across a ten-parish region, including Orleans and Jefferson parishes. Originally founded as Delgado Trades School, the college has evolved significantly over the years, expanding from a trade school to a comprehensive junior college. The college operates seven campuses throughout metropolitan New Orleans and offers a wide range of programs. These include professional and advanced technology career education, academic pre-baccalaureate education, and traditional occupational training. Delgado also provides healthcare programs, such as radiological technology and respiratory care, along with degree programs in mathematics, sciences, fine arts, and humanities. The college is governed by the Louisiana Community and Technical College System and is recognized for its commitment to education and training in various fields.
