Set up in 1989 by Birgitta & Peter Curtin, the Burren Smokehouse is a family-run business producing award-winning artisan food products. We use a unique smoking process, using real fire kilns and ancient techniques - with a touch of Scandinavian flair - to give our 100% Irish wild and Irish organic salmon, mackerel & trout its famous flavour.   We uphold the highest standards of quality, carefully sourcing our raw ingredients locally, and adhering to all necessary processes to achieve our organic certification. Winner 2 x National Organic Awards (2020), numerous Great Taste Gold Medal Awards and "Top 50 Foods" over the last two decades, Winner Green Seafood Business Award (2018) and many more. Owner Birgitta has won numerous awards, among them the Good Food Ireland Awards: "Food Champion", "Best of the Decade Award" & "The International Ambassador of the Decade Award" (2016).
